One day at Kilroy Motors about four years ago, Frankie and
five or six of his friends who had hot rods decided to start a club. The boy’s
decided on the name Kilroy Cruisers. They chose the logo of the little man
looking over the fence and the name because all the guys hang out at the garage.
They began as just cruisers and one day felt is was time for there own “Cruise
Nite”. After the club formed they began to raise money for charities, injured
people and the Katrina Flood Victims. The Make A Wish Foundation is there main
charity yearly. They approached Uncle Willie’s on the post road in Orange to
maybe have a Cruise Nite on the property on Monday nights and Willie agreed.
They cruised there for three years then moved to Mc Donald’s a little
way’s up the road and changed to Sunday afternoons. The club is all about Hot
Rods and helping one another with their cars. We are fortunate to have a few
members who are very talented and good with there hands, who perform repairs on
members cars. We have club functions that include family members in the summer
and winter. We are making plans to have our club meetings in the confines of
Kilroy Motors.
